Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, I don't know anything about the banning of Awami League. However, as far as I know, no decision has been made in this regard. I don't want to comment on this.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the 45th National Rally of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Gazipur's Safipur on Wednesday morning. The adviser said, Bangladesh Ansar members have a leading role in building the country. Ansar members are working everywhere. They are playing a leading role in the country's crisis. Discussions are underway to accept their reasonable demands.

Regarding Operation Devil Hunt, the Home Affairs Adviser said, this operation will continue as long as necessary. When asked by journalists, the Home Affairs Advisor said, the amount of weapons that are supposed to be recovered is not being recovered. We are also keeping an eye on that. At that time, Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Ghani, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar VDP and Village Defense Force Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud and Ansar officials were present.

The adviser said that the contribution of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, which were formed with the vow of serving the country, to the social security system is undeniable. He said that this force has a total of 42 Ansar battalions, including 39 male Ansar battalions, 2 female Ansar battalions, and a specialized Ansar Guard Battalion (AGB). Out of them, members of 16 Ansar battalions are performing their duties shoulder to shoulder with the army, BGB and police as a supporting force dependent on 'Operation Utran' to maintain peace and order in remote hilly areas. In order to strengthen social harmony and non-communal bonds, the members of this force are confidently fulfilling any responsibility assigned by the state by integrating with the local administration in various religious events including the autumn Durga Puja.

Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said, the vigilant members of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force are working closely with the upazila administration to prevent land grabbers, anti-adulteration campaigns and establish a drug-free society. The role of this force is visible in providing security to the country's diplomatic missions to create an investment-friendly environment in the country and to maintain Bangladesh's image in the outside world. The specially trained Ansar Guard Battalion (AGB) members of this force are playing a role in providing security to important installations including KPI. Moreover, Ansar-VDP members are playing a very important role in serving humanity in all natural and man-made disasters within the country.
