Dr. Khalilur Rahman set to become technocrat minister
Interim government's National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman is set to take oath as a technocrat minister in the new cabinet.
Meanwhile, the newly elected members of parliament of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have taken oath. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin administered their oath at the swearing-in room of the National Parliament Building at 10:45 am on Tuesday, February 17.
First, the elected MPs of the party, including BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, took the oath and later they signed the oath book.
Dr. Khalilur Rahman joined the civil service in 1979. He has experience of serving in the South Asia Division and working as the personal secretary to the Foreign Minister at the beginning of his career.
After the oath-taking of the BNP MPs, the oath-taking of the elected MPs from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, independents and other parties was administered.
The new cabinet members will be sworn in at 4 pm today at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building.
