Dr Moniruzzaman appointed as new MD of Dhaka WASA

Dr Md Moniruzzaman, additional secretary attached to the Local Government Division, has been appointed as the new managing director (MD) of Dhaka WASA. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification appointing him to this post on deputation on Tuesday (August 25).

According to the notification, Dr Md Moniruzzaman has been given the responsibility as managing director of Dhaka WASA. With this, a change has come to the top post of the organisation.

Until now Md Aminul Islam had been serving as the MD of Dhaka WASA. Dr Md Moniruzzaman is succeeding him.

Dhaka WASA performs the responsibility of safe water supply, sewerage and drainage management in the capital and surrounding areas. Alongside, the organization conducts various service activities including water production and purification, development of supply infrastructure and waste management.

With the new MD taking charge, a change is coming in the administrative leadership of these activities of Dhaka WASA. This appointment has been made effective through the relevant government notification.
