Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus has returned to his previous workplace nearly 18 months after serving as chief adviser to the interim government.

A post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday (February 22) confirmed his return.

In the morning, he arrived at the Yunus Centre in Mirpur, where longtime colleagues welcomed him warmly.

Dr. Yunus held meetings with managing directors and advisors of various rural organisations, discussing the resumption of activities interrupted during his government tenure and outlining future work plans.

Sources said he is expected to return to his residence in Gulshan later this month.

Dr. Yunus led the interim government formed on August 8, 2024, following the mass student and public uprising that led to the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024. After serving for nearly 18 months, he handed over power to the newly elected government of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad on February 17, marking the conclusion of that chapter.
