A total of 846 individuals, including 71 major drug dealers, have been arrested during a special operation lasting 21 days. This extensive initiative involved 3,397 operations across the country, a press release issued by the home ministry said. Among those arrested, eight individuals have been identified as drug kingpins. A total of 762 cases were lodged in connection with the drives. The special operation began on September 4. During these operations, authorities seized a substantial quantity of drugs and related items, including 227,258 pieces of yaba pills, 2.665 kg of heroin, 1 kg of ice, 1,630 bottles of Phensedyl, 1,078 bottles of foreign liquor etc. Additionally, a shotgun, nine rounds of ammunition, nine vehicles, and cash amounting to Tk 1,717,770 were also recovered.

মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে দেশব্যাপী চলমান অভিযানে গডফাদারসহ ৭১ জন শীর্ষ মাদক কারবারিসহ ৮৪৬ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে মাদকদ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রণ অধিদপ্তর। যৌথ বাহিনীর অভিযান শুরু হওয়ার পর থেকে গত ২১ দিনে ৩ হাজার ৩৯৭টি মাদকবিরোধী অভিযান পরিচালনা করে ৮৪৬ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। গ্রেপ্তারকৃতদের মধ্যে ৮ জন গডফাদার রয়েছেন। এসব অভিযানের পর ৭৬২টি মামলা দায়ের করা হয়। স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের সিনিয়র তথ্য অফিসার ফয়সল হাসান এসব তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, অভিযানে ২ লাখ ২৭ হাজার ২৫৮ পিস ইয়াবা ট্যাবলেট, প্রায় ৪০০ কেজি গাজা, ২.৬৬৫ কেজি হেরোইন, ১ কেজি আইস, ১৬৩০ বোতল ফেন্সিডিল, ১০৭৮ বোতল বিভিন্ন ব্রান্ডের বিলাতি মদ, বিয়ার ১৫৪২ ক্যান, টাপেন্টাডল ট্যাবলেট ২৮০১ পিস, চোলাই মদ ১২২২ লিটার, ইনজেকশন ২৭৪২ এমপুল। এছাড়াও শটগান-১ টি, গুলি- ৯ রাউন্ড, বিভিন্ন যানবাহন- ৯ টি এবং নগদ ১৭ লাখ ১৭ হাজার ৭৭০ টাকা জব্দ করা হয়েছে। উল্লেখ্য, অবৈধ মাদক উদ্ধারে গত ৪ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে মাদকদ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রণ অধিদপ্তর বিশেষ অভিযান শুরু করে।
