DU suspends all classes and exams on Sunday

Dhaka University authorities have suspended all classes and examinations scheduled for Sunday, November 23, to ensure students’ safety and to consider possible psychological trauma following the recent earthquakes.

The decision was confirmed in a press release signed by Farrook Mahmud, Deputy Director of the university’s Public Relations Office, issued at around 8:30pm on Saturday, November 22.

The statement said that, in light of the situation arising from the recent earthquakes, all classes and examinations of Dhaka University on Sunday, November 23, 2025, have been postponed to ensure the safety of students and to acknowledge possible mental distress. Further instructions and decisions will be communicated soon after assessing the situation. The university administration is taking necessary measures, prioritising the safety of all students, teachers, and staff.

Earlier, DUCSU General Secretary (GS) SM Farhad announced the suspension on his verified Facebook page. He wrote, “All classes and examinations at Dhaka University will remain suspended tomorrow.”
