DU teacher who went viral for singing suspended

A decision has been taken to suspend Dhaka University (DU) Bangla Department Professor Chowdhury Md. Tashreeq-e-Habib from academic activities after his song went viral on social media. He was suspended based on complaints from teachers and students of the department.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the university's highest decision-making forum, the Syndicate on Monday night. The meeting was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor ABM Obaidul Islam.

It is learned that Tashreeq-e-Habib, a teacher of the department, has been suspended from academic activities as per the recommendation of the academic committee of the Bangla Department. Various charges were brought against him on social media, including tarnishing the image of the university.

Recently, Professor Tashreeq-e-Habib came into wide discussion by performing various popular songs on social media. He received a significant response on Facebook by singing songs by Shah Abdul Karim, James and Fazlur Rahman Babu.
