DUCSU Election: 1,100 votes cast in first 2hrs

Voting is underway for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections. According to information received until 10 am on Tuesday (September 9), more than 700 votes were cast at the TSC centre and over 400 at the Curzon Hall centre. Students said they arrived early to cast their votes smoothly and comfortably.

The DUCSU election began simultaneously at 8 am across 810 booths in eight centres of the university and will continue uninterrupted until 4 pm. Long queues of voters were seen at several centres even before voting started.

Around 7 am, ballot boxes were delivered to each centre and opened in the presence of journalists and polling agents, after which voting commenced. A festive and peaceful atmosphere has prevailed throughout the campus.
