DUCSU election results to be announced by midnight: Returning Officer

The results of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election are expected to be announced by 11 pm or midnight today (Tuesday, September 9), according to Returning Officer Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani. He informed the media on Tuesday that the vote counting process is underway.

“We estimate that over 80 percent of the votes have been cast. The results will be published between 11 PM and 12 midnight,” Professor Rabbani said.

The much-anticipated voting for the DUCSU and Hall Union elections concluded at 4 PM today. Vote counting has already begun at several polling centers.

The Election Commission reported that the majority of votes were cast by 1 PM, with a voter turnout exceeding 80 percent so far.

As of 4 pm, the voter turnout was recorded as follows; Shahidullah Muslim Hall: 75%, Salimullah Muslim Hall: 79%, Amar Ekushey Hall: 62% and Bijoy Ekattor Hall: 85.02%.

Turnout data from other halls is still awaited.
