DUCSU election to serve as model for national polls: Home Adviser

The upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election is being hailed as a potential model for the national elections, according to Home Adviser Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Speaking after the Law and Order Advisory Council meeting chaired by him at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning, Chowdhury emphasised that the election process has so far been free from any unpleasant incidents.

“The DUCSU election is progressing smoothly. There have been no reports of law and order disturbances, and no negative incidents have been reported in the media. This is certainly encouraging,” the Home Adviser said.

He further assured that the government maintains firm control over the law and order situation, paving the way for a peaceful and fair election. The Ministry of Home Affairs is actively preparing for a festive and well-organized election scheduled for February, in accordance with the timeline announced by the Chief Adviser.
