The Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) paid tribute to the martyrs of the Language Movement on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

However, Executive Member Sarba Mitra Chakma expressed dissatisfaction, alleging that not all members of the student body were informed about the tribute.

At 12:48am on Friday (February 20), he shared a screenshot on Facebook taken from a live broadcast by Bangladesh Television, showing DUCSU leaders laying wreaths at the Shaheed Minar.

In his post, Chakma claimed that he, along with members Hema Chakma, Fatema Tasnim Juma, Rafia and Umme Salma, learned about the tribute through the BTV broadcast.

The shared screenshot shows DUCSU Vice President Sadik Kayem and General Secretary SM Farhad, among others, paying homage to the language martyrs at the Shaheed Minar.

Meanwhile, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman also paid their respects to the Language Movement martyrs at the first hour of today.
