DUCSU poll: Shadik Kayem gets 7076 votes, Abidul 1789 in 5 halls
The results of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union elections have begun to be announced. So far, Shibir-supported candidate Shadik Kayem is leading in the votes of five halls.
The halls are - Shahidullah Hall, Curzon Hall, Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall, Amar Ekushey Hall and Sufia Kamal Hall.
The results show that the VP candidate of the Chhatra Shibir-supported United Students' Union, Md. Abu Shadik (Shadim Kayem), is leading by a large margin with a total of 7076 votes. His closest rival, Chhatra Dal-supported VP candidate Md. Abidul Islam Khan, received 1789 votes.
The results were announced separately in the halls from 2:45 am on Wednesday.
The Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall parliament elections, known as mini parliaments, were held after a long six years. Voting was held in 810 booths at 8 centers of the university on Tuesday (September 9).
