EC holds talks with political parties on 11 election agendas

The Election Commission (EC) has begun talks with political parties ahead of the upcoming national elections, discussing 11 key agendas to ensure a free, fair, and impartial process.

The first session, held Thursday (November 13) at the EC conference room, was attended by representatives of six parties and chaired by Chief Election Commissioner A.M.M. Nasir Uddin.

EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed outlined the 11-point agenda.

Agendas includes: pre-schedule preparations, strict adherence to the code of conduct, signing of commitment letters by parties and candidates, management of election agents, out-of-country and postal voting, prevention of misinformation, regulation of AI misuse, protection of communal harmony, prohibition of discrimination based on religion, gender, or race, restriction of religious sites for campaigning, and prevention of AI-generated content harming opponents or sensitive sentiments.
