EC resumes voter transfer activities

The Election Commission (EC) has resumed voter transfer activities due to change of residence. Letters have been sent to all upazila and thana election officers across the country with the necessary directives in this regard.

The information was revealed from a letter signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury. In the letter sent to field-level offices on Wednesday, the Election Commission directed that applications for voter transfer be accepted as before, and that the overall verification be completed and the matter issued and disposed of.

The letter mentioned that special directives were sent to the field level on September 2 to dispose of previous applications regarding voter transfer due to change of residence by September 10. Considering the overall situation and to ensure convenience for citizens, the Election Commission has decided to resume voter transfer activities at field-level offices.
