Edible oil price hiked by 4 taka per liter
Edible oil prices have been increased once again. The price of bottled soybean oil has been increased by 4 taka per liter from 195 taka to 199 taka. At the same time, the price of open soybean oil has also been increased by 4 taka per liter from 175 taka to 179 taka.
Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir made this announcement at a press conference organized on the edible oil market situation at the meeting room of the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday (April 29).
The minister said that the price of edible oil in the country had to be adjusted due to the impact of the increase in the price of raw materials in the international market. Due to the global situation, the price of the product is increasing at the place of origin, which is also affecting the local market.
He also said that the government hopes that the oil supply situation in the market will remain normal as a result of the new price fixing. At the same time, he urged consumers to look into the matter by keeping the global market situation in mind.
The Commerce Minister also indicated that the government will strengthen market supervision.
