Education Minister Milon vows tough action to prevent cheating and question leaks
New Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said that cheating and question paper leaks will no longer occur in educational institutions. He said this while talking to reporters at the Education Ministry meeting room at the Secretariat on Wednesday (February 18).
The minister said that effective steps were taken to stop cheating and question paper leaks during his tenure in the past. This time too, discipline will be maintained in educational institutions through strict monitoring and necessary measures.
Addressing the students, he said that the 'backdated' education system cannot be moved forward. The world is now a global village, so the education system must be built in line with international standards. For this, work will be done on digital transformation, technology-based skills and modern knowledge-based curriculum formulation.
Regarding allegations of irregularities and corruption in the Education Ministry, the minister said that accountability for past issues will not be given, but there will be no corruption in his time and in the future. Necessary inquiries will be made into allegations of irregularities in MPO registration and registration of educational institutions.
Regarding the increase in the salaries and facilities of private teachers, he said that the government is aware of the matter and a decision will be announced in a timely manner.
The minister also mentioned that it is disappointing that the education sector is not given top priority even after 54 years. Bangladesh's education budget is low compared to neighboring countries. Therefore, it is important to increase investment in the education sector.
