Education Ministry seeks nominations for Begum Rokeya Award 2026

The Education Ministry has sought nominations for the 'Begum Rokeya Award 2026' from Bangladeshi women who have contributed to various fields including women's education, women's rights, women's socio-economic development, women's awakening through literature and culture, and rural development.

This information was given in a letter from the Secondary and Higher Education Department on Wednesday (June 17).

The letter said that 'Begum Rokeya Day' is celebrated nationwide on December 9 every year. On this occasion, five Bangladeshi women are awarded the 'Begum Rokeya Award' as the highest state recognition.

According to the 'Begum Rokeya Award (Revised) Policy-2025', the Secondary and Higher Education Department and its departments, organizations and institutions have been instructed to send nominations of women who have contributed to the relevant fields.

The nominations have been asked to be sent to the Coordination Branch in soft copy and hard copy by June 30, 2026.

It further informed that the application form and the prescribed format should be collected from the website of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs or the Directorate of Women Affairs. Applications will not be accepted through any other medium other than the prescribed format.
