The Ministry of Education has decided to introduce a blended learning system on a trial basis in several selected educational institutions in the capital, combining both online and in-person classes.

The announcement was made by Education Adviser A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon at a press conference held at the International Mother Language Institute on Thursday.

The decision was taken considering the global energy crisis, severe traffic congestion in the capital and the need to adapt to a more technology-driven education system. The new system is expected to begin next week in some institutions, including Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.

Under the plan, classes will be held six days a week. Students will attend in-person classes three days a week and online classes for the remaining three days.

According to the schedule, in-person classes will take place on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, while online classes will be held on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Friday will remain the weekly holiday.

Teachers will be required to attend their institutions physically and conduct the classes. The blended learning system will be implemented in institutions that have the necessary capacity to operate it.
