Educational institutions to remain closed for 3 consecutive days
All primary, secondary and higher secondary educational institutions across Bangladesh will remain closed for three consecutive days from Sunday (April 12) to Tuesday (April 14), according to the annual academic holiday calendar.
The closure has been declared in observance of Bijhu/Boishabi festivities, Chaitra Sankranti, and Pahela Baishakh.
Classes will resume on Wednesday (April 15), officials said.
According to the holiday schedule, April 12 marks the Bijhu/Boishabi celebrations, followed by Chaitra Sankranti on April 13 and Pahela Baishakh on April 14, all of which are national cultural and traditional observances.
Several educational institutions in the capital and other parts of the country have already issued notices confirming the holiday period.
The notifications stated that all academic activities and administrative operations in schools and colleges will remain suspended during the three-day break in line with the official holiday calendar.
