Ehsan Mahmud appointed DG of July Uprising Memorial Museum

The government has appointed journalist and fiction writer Ehsan Mahmud as the Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum.

The appointment was announced in a gazette notification issued by the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (September 16).

According to the notification, Ehsan Mahmud has been appointed on a contractual basis under Section 12(2) of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum Act, 2026. He will serve in the position for one year from the date of joining.

As one of the key conditions of the appointment, he must completely sever all professional and business engagements, as well as all employment-related relationships with government, semi-government and private organisations.

The order, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani, said the decision had been taken in the public interest.
