Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (Noab) announced a five-day holiday for newspaper offices from March 19 to March 23 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr As a result, no newspapers will be published from March 20 to March 24, according to a holiday notice issued on Tuesday, signed by Noab President AK Azad. The decision was taken at a meeting of Noab’s Executive Committee, it said. In Bangladesh Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 20 or March 21 as per the sighting of the new crescent moon.

এবার ঈদুল ফিতরে সংবাদপত্রে ৫ দিন ছুটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। আজ মঙ্গলবার বাংলাদেশ সংবাদপত্র মালিক সমিতি (নোয়াব) এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানায়। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়, নোয়াবের নির্বাহী কমিটির সিদ্ধান্ত অনুসারে, গণমাধ্যমে ১৯-২৩ মার্চ ঈদুল ফিতরের ছুটি পালন করা হবে। সে হিসাবে ২০-২৪ মার্চ পর্যন্ত কোনও সংবাদপত্র প্রকাশিত হবে না।
