Emergency instructions for all educational institutions
Information has been sought on measures taken to display anti-drug documentaries in educational institutions, prevent eve-teasing, stop unrest in the name of 'Rag Day', and actions to encourage students to focus on studies at night. This information must be sent to a designated email by March 30.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) issued this directive in a letter on Sunday, March 15. The letter has been sent to DSHE's Regional Directors and Deputy Directors, and the matter has been described as extremely urgent.
The letter states that some decisions were taken at a law and order meeting held on February 25 under the chairmanship of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary with various departments and agencies under the Ministry of Education. In light of those decisions, arrangements have been instructed to strengthen publicity about the harmful effects of drugs and to display anti-drug documentaries and theme songs produced by the Department of Narcotics Control in educational institutions to build a social movement against drugs.
Additionally, information on progress of measures taken to prevent eve-teasing, stop unrest in the name of 'Rag Day', and awareness-raising activities to encourage students to focus on studies at night must be sent by March 30 to the email address director.mew@gmail.com.
In this context, Regional Directors and Deputy Directors have been instructed to collect progress reports of measures taken by all educational institutions at district and upazila levels in their respective regions and send them compiled according to the prescribed format.
The report must mention: name of the region, number of institutions under the region, percentage of implementing institutions, percentage of non-implementing institutions (if any), reasons for non-implementation, and necessary comments.
