Several parts of Dhaka city will start the new year with an 11-hour gas outage. Gas supply will be interrupted from 9am to 8pm for all customers in the West Rajabazar, Indira Road and Sukrabad areas of the capital on Wednesday, Jan 1. Nearby areas may also experience low gas pressure. The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company says the outage is due to repair and renovation work on the 59/F gas pipeline in the area. The decision was announced in an ‘emergency gas shut-down notice’ from the company on Tuesday. The Titas Gas authorities apologised to customers for the temporary inconvenience.

রাজধানীর কয়েকটি এলাকায় ২০২৫ সালের প্রথমদিনে থাকবে না ১১ ঘণ্টা গ্যাস। বিজ্ঞপ্তি অনুযায়ী, বুধবার ( ১ জানুয়ারি) সকাল ৯টা থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত গ্যাস সরবরাহ বন্ধ থাকবে। মঙ্গলবার (৩১ ডিসেম্বর) তিতাস গ্যাস কর্তৃপক্ষের এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, গ্যাস পাইপলাইনের জরুরি কাজের জন্য বুধবার (১ জানুয়ারি) গ্যাসের পাইপলাইন রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ কাজের জন্য সকাল ৯টা থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত মোট ১১ ঘণ্টা গ্যাস সরবরাহ বন্ধ থাকবে। এলাকাগুলো হলো-পশ্চিম রাজাবাজার, ইন্দিরারোড, শুক্রবাদ। এতে আরও উল্লেখ করা হয়, একই সময় আশপাশের এলাকায় গ্যাসের চাপ কম থাকবে। বলেও বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে ছে। গ্রাহকদের সাময়িক অসুবিধার জন্য আগাম দুঃখ প্রকাশ করেছে তিতাস গ্যাস কর্তৃপক্ষ।
