2 arrested over attempted robbery in DU

Two robbers have been arrested by the university's proctorial team from the VC’s area of Dhaka University. The information was confirmed by Dhaka University's Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed on Sunday, December 8.

According to sources from Dhaka University students, the two robbers snatched 1 lakh taka from an individual and were fleeing towards BUET when they were caught by the proctorial team of the university.

Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed said, "I received the news. They were arrested during the robbery. I have instructed them to be handed over to Shahbagh police station."

Regarding this, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, Mohammad Khalil Mansur, said that the two robbers have been brought to the station, and legal actions are in progress against them.

However, neither the university authorities nor the victim have filed any complaints against them. The police have stated that actions will be taken against the individuals.
