Advance train ticket sale for Eid begins

On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Railway has started the advance sale of train tickets today (March 24). The railway authorities fixed the date considering April 10 will be the Eid day, according to Bangladesh Railway sources.

During Eid, tickets are sold in advance for five days. However, it has been increased to seven days this time. The Tickets are available on the railway website (https://eticket.railway.gov.bd/) and mobile app.

Tickets for April 3 journey are available on the first day of ticket sales. The train tickets for April, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be available on March 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 respectively.

Similarly, the sale of return tickets will start from April 3. Tickets for April 13 will be available on April 3. Then, the tickets for April 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 will be available on April 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 respectively.

Bangladesh Railway has decided to run eight pairs of special trains to serve passengers on the occasion of Eid.

Earlier on March 13, Sardar Shahadat Ali, acting director general of railways, said, "Eid advance and return tickets will be sold 100% online. A passenger can purchase a maximum of four tickets."
