Ananda Shobhajatra ends embracing festivity

The 'Barshabaran Ananda Shobhajatra', which started in front of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, has ended.

Thousands of enthusiastic people participated in the procession that started at 9am on Monday (April 14). The procession ended at the Faculty of Fine Arts around 10:30am.

The procession started from in front of the Faculty of Fine Arts, went around Shahbagh intersection, passed TSC intersection, Shaheed Minar, the University's Physical Education Center, Doyel Chattar, and ended at the Faculty of Fine Arts again coming through the road in front of Bangla Academy.

Along with the countrymen, foreigners also participated in the procession. There was a strong presence of law enforcement agencies around the Dhaka University area surrounding the procession.

The procession showcased the rural life and the struggle of people dependent on nature through various large-scale artworks including masks, puppets, bamboo tigers, birds, and fish. A special facial expression has caught everyone's attention amidst the atmosphere of this festival. That is the facial expression of a fascist. At the same time, the 'Pani Lagbe Pani' motif in memory of those killed in the July Movement has also caught everyone's attention.
