Army donates one day’s salary to Chief Adviser’s relief fund for flood victims
The Bangladesh Army has donated an amount equivalent to one day's salary of all its members to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund to support flood victims across the country.
Bangladesh Army though its verified Facebook page, said the money has been donated to help the victims of ongoing flash flood that has ravaged Feni, Chattogram, Cumilla, Noakhali, Sunamganj, Habiganj districts.
Different units of Bangladesh Army are conducting rescue operations in flood-hit areas, distributing foods and essentials, airlifting people stranded in places hard to reach by any other means.
Army's medical teams are also providing treatment to flood victims in many areas.
On Thursday (August 22), the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a press release inviting individuals and organizations to contribute financial aid for flood relief efforts. Donations can be made to the 'Logistics Area Relief Fund' at The Trust Bank Limited, Radisson Water Garden Hotel Branch, account number 0018-0210010110.
