Efforts are continuing to resume Indian tourist visas, which remain suspended for Bangladeshi citizens, Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Verma has said.
The government is awaiting consent from Indian authorities to establish contact through the Bangladesh mission with three individuals arrested in Kolkata in connection with the killing of Inquilab Manch convener Sharif Osman Hadi.
Due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East, Bangladeshi expatriates will be able to renew their visas from outside Bahrain. As a result, expatriates who are staying outside Bahrain for various reasons will also get the opportunity to renew their visas through the prescribed process.
The request for additional diesel supply made by Bangladesh is currently under consideration, said Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Qatar has taken an initiative to arrange special flights to bring Bangladeshi citizens stranded in Qatar amid the ongoing war in the Middle East, along with their family members, back to Dhaka.
