Azim president, Shamim secy general of BCS Taxation Association

Tax Commissioner Md Lutful Azim and Additional Tax Commissioner Sheikh Shamim Bulbul were elected president and secretary general of Bangladesh Civil Service (Taxation) Association respectively.

The organization's annual general meeting-2023 and 2024-25 term elections were held on Friday (January 19) at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital.

Tax Commissioner Kabir Uddin Molla, Ikhtiar Uddin Mohammad Mamun, and Additional Tax Commissioner Mohammad Fazle Ahad Kaisar were elected vice president of the organization.

Tax Commissioner Md Zakir Hossain was elected as treasurer, while Joint Tax Commissioner Mohammad Masum Billah and Joint Tax Commissioner Md Mehedi Hasan were elected as Joint Secretary General.

Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohammad Ariful Alam has been elected as office secretary, Deputy Tax Commissioner Kazi Rukaia Sultana as co-office secretary. Deputy Tax Commissioner Md Mohidul Islam Chowdhury was elected as Research Secretary while Deputy Tax Commissioner Ekramul Haq got the post of Associate Research Secretary.

Earlier, NRB member Md Iqbal Hossain, Tax Commissioner Md Mahmuduzzaman, and Tax Commissioner Md Muhtasibur Rahman Khan addressed the AGM. Tax Commissioner Barrister Motasim Billah Farooqui, convenor of AGM and Election-2023 Preparation Committee, delivered the welcome speech.
