China interested to import mangoes from Bangladesh
China has expressed its interest to import agricultural products including mangoes from Bangladesh. Besides, the country is also interested in investing in ICT, energy sector and infrastructure development in Bangladesh.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen expressed the interest while making a courtesy call on state minister for planning ministry Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker at the Planning Commission at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Wednesday (March 20).
Yao Wen praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership during the meeting.
At the meeting, they discussed various bilateral interests of Bangladesh-China including trade, export of agricultural products, infrastructural development, and various projects where China has invested.
The state minister said China is always cooperating with Bangladesh in various important projects including technical cooperation in the construction of Karnaphuli Tunnel, Padma Bridge, and Dhaka-Ashulia Expressway. He thanked the Chinese ambassador for the assistance.
China is a long time tested friend and development partner of Bangladesh. Shahiduzzaman Sarkar expressed hope that the bilateral relations between the two countries will be stronger in the future.
Senior officials of the Planning Commission were present at the meeting.
