To avoid further clashes and violence with Dhaka College students, Dhaka City College has announced a two-day closure on Wednesday and Thursday.

The announcement was made by the acting principal of the college, FM Mobarak Hossain, at 3:24pm on Tuesday (22 April).

Earlier, around 12pm, a clash broke out between students of Dhaka College and City College following an incident in which a student was injured. The situation turned violent, and the Science Laboratory area in the capital turned into a battleground.

Meanwhile, more than 50 police officers have been deployed in front of City College at the Science Lab intersection. They have surrounded the City College students. On the other side, Dhaka College students have gathered at the Science Lab intersection, where they were seen setting fire and protesting.

As a result, traffic movement from Nilkhet to Science Lab has come to a halt.
