DU female student seeks case withdrawal after receiving rape-murder threats

A female student of Dhaka University filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station accusing a man of making inappropriate comments about her clothes and harassing her. Shortly after, Mustafa Asif Arnab, the university's library assistant binder, was arrested by the Shahbagh police. However, a few hours later, the student submitted a request to withdraw the case.

Confirming the matter, Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur said, "The student has submitted a request to withdraw the case. However, only the court has the authority to withdraw a case."

When asked why she wanted to withdraw the case, the student told Views Bangladesh, "Since filing the case, I have been receiving rape and murder threats from various people on Messenger. I do not know them. Out of concern for my safety, I have requested to withdraw the case."
