DU teachers demand reinstatement of "Except Israel" in passports

Dhaka University (DU) teachers have demanded the reinstatement of "Except Israel" in Bangladesh passports.

They made this demand at a protest rally organised in front of the university's Arts Building on Wednesday morning (April 9) at Bottala to demand an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The teachers alleged that the Awami League government had done a despicable act by purchasing eavesdropping devices from Israel and removing the travel ban from passports to Israel.

The teachers held a series of programmes at the rally, including submitting memorandums to various embassies.

They also called for boycotting Israeli products and focusing on expanding domestic industries and products.

Students, along with teachers, also participated in the rally.
