Election Commissioner (EC) Tahmida Ahmed gave this information on Monday (December 16) afternoon.
Earlier, in his address to the nation on the occasion of the Victory Day in the morning, Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus said that national elections can be held by the end of 2025 or the first half of 2026, subject to reforms and accurate preparation of the voter list.
The chief adviser said, I have repeatedly appealed to you to complete all the major reforms and hold elections. However, due to political consensus, if, I repeat, we have to complete the elections on the basis of making a few reforms and accurately preparing the voter list, then it may be possible to hold elections by the end of 2025.
