First day of voting for SCBA polls underway

The first day of voting for the two-day election of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) for 2024-25 tenure is underway amid great enthusiasm and excitement.

On the occasion of the election, the Supreme Court premises are in a festive mood.

The voting started on Wednesday (March 6) morning at 10:25 am. The voting will continue till 5:00pm with a one-hour break in between.

The voting is going on simultaneously in 50 booths installed in the auditorium of the Supreme Court Bar Bhavan. A total of 7,883 lawyers will get the opportunity to exercise their voting franchise in this election.

The convenor of the election management sub-committee, senior lawyer Abul Khair told the media, "Voting for the two-day election will end on Thursday. After counting the votes, the results will be announced.”

Awami League-backed White Panel and BNP-backed Blue Panel are participating in the election. Apart from this, some lawyers are participating in the election as independent candidates.
