Fraud case: Formal trial against Sabrina begins

A Dhaka court on Monday framed charges against Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury in a case filed against her for possessing two National Identity Cards with fake information.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed passed the order rejecting discharge petitions submitted by the accused in the case.

Sabrina was present in the court at that time. She claims to be innocent and seeks justice from the court. Md Osman Goni, the lawyer of the defendant, confirmed the matter.

Earlier on August 30, 2020, Election Officer Abdul Momin Mia under Gulshan Police Station filed the case against Sabrina with Badda Police Station.

According to the case statement, the accused possessed two active NID cards. Later, ACC sought details information from Election Commission's NID division regarding the issue.
