Gold prices fall after hitting record highs
Due to a decline in the price of pure gold on the local market, jewellers have reduced the price of gold by Tk840 to Tk1,18,797 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) implemented the downward adjustment during a meeting held on Saturday (April 20).
Earlier, on April 18, the price of 22-carat gold was increased by Tk 2,275 to Tk 1,19,638. It broke all the previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold.
According to the new price, per bhori of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 840 to Tk 1,18,798; 21-carat gold price by Tk 805 to Tk 1,13,397; 18-carat gold price by Tk 688 to Tk 97,196.
The traditional gold price has been reduced by Tk560 taka to Tk78,242.
