The customs, traditions, beliefs, rituals, art, literature, food habits, clothing, and languages of people throughout the generations - in short, everything that has been underway for hundreds of thousands of years of a country and a nation is part of its heritage. Among all these, some special unique features carry the unique identity of the people of a country and nation - they are part of the special heritage. No nation wants to destroy these traditions. Otherwise, the identity of a nation is erased. We also have some such traditions - our Baul songs, Pohela Boishakh, winter pithas, shital pati, rickshaws, etc. Some of our traditions have been recognized as world heritage by the United Nations Cultural Organization UNESCO - Sompur Bihar, Sundarbans, Shital Pati in Sylhet, Baul songs, the Bagherhat shat gumbos masjid, Jamdani, Dhaka's rickshaws and rickshaw paintings, Iftar, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 speech.

Our responsibility is to preserve and store these traditions. Culture and tradition are attacked from many sides. The culture of many countries is destroyed due to religion and politics. Just as many countries and nations lost their own culture and tradition due to colonialism, so too, the culture and tradition of many countries are under threat due to globalization. Along with this, the dominance of sky culture and technology is in place.

Even despite our will, it is not possible to bring back many traditions and cultures. Many cultures and traditions indeed change with time, But we must preserve whatever carries the spirit of a nation's identity. As Bengalis, we have some of our unique traditions, just as we have traditions of different religions and cultures; there are also traditions of different ethnic groups in this country. Our society-state or nation has been formed by combining all these. We cannot make the culture and tradition of one person smaller or bigger than another.

The unity that is established in the diversity of this colorful cultural tradition is the beauty of a country-nation or the entire human race. There is a spontaneous flow of culture and tradition, which cannot be forcibly maintained, nor can it be destroyed. This flow goes through the bloodstream and breathing of people. Still, in this modern era of sky invasion, in the era of the attack of new imperialism, in the era of the fierce rise of nationalism, we must be more aware of our own culture and tradition - so that no one can erase our identity just in the name of the free market economy.

Our religion, culture, and tradition have been attacked in various ways for a long time. The first attack came from our language; we resisted that attack; later, attacks were made in many areas of our religion, culture, and tradition in various ways. By fighting against them, we have been carrying our individualism as a nation, standing with our heads held high in the world.

Efforts are still being made to erase our individualism, attacks are being made on our various cultures and traditions in various ways; we must also stand against these conspiracies. Our individualism flourishes through our own culture and tradition; and for this--the government and the people--we all have an equal duty.
