NCTB directives to open department in Madrasas
The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NTCB) has issued directives for the establishment of a new department in Class IX of Dakhil Madrasas, set to commence from the academic year 2024.
The Directorate of Madrasah Education released the board's letter of instruction on Wednesday (October 9).
This initiative aims to align with the ongoing educational reforms and ensure a standardized curriculum across institutions.
The Directorate of Madrasah Education has also announced that a short syllabus will be prepared for the 10th grade for the academic year 2025.
Additionally, there would be no division into separate departments—science, humanities, and business education—at the ninth grade level in secondary institutions.
However, due to recent emergency instructions from the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, the SSC and equivalent examinations for students completing 10th grade in 2025 will still be based on the National Curriculum of 2012, allowing for the continuation of departmental divisions.
