New policy formulated for entry into Secretariat

The Ministry of Home Affairs has formulated a new policy for entry into the Secretariat. In this new policy, security is being strengthened more than before for entry into the Secretariat. According to the policy, the entry system is becoming stricter and more sophisticated by using card reader scanning.

This information has been given in the recently published Secretariat Entry Policy 2025. It was signed by Senior Secretary of the home ministry Dr Nasimul Gani.

The new policy states that before entering the Secretariat, the body of the card-holding officer/employee will be scanned through the archway and metal detector and the bags carried with them will be scanned through the baggage scanner.

Cardholders will enter through the specified gate using only card reader scanning when entering the gate.

Cardholders with vehicles will enter by scanning the card through the digital system.

The following persons will be eligible for a permanent entry pass to enter the Secretariat:

1. Regular officers and employees of ministries/divisions/offices located within the Secretariat.

2. Deputy Secretaries and officials of the government working outside the Secretariat.

3. Retired Secretaries.

4. Private Secretary and Assistant Private Secretary working with Minister/Advisor/Minister of State/Deputy Minister/persons of equivalent rank.

5. Drivers of Central Transport Pool posted within the Secretariat.

Temporary Entry Pass
The persons/individuals who will be considered eligible for temporary entry pass are-

1. Attached to various ministries/divisions within the Bangladesh Secretariat.
