Price of gas used in power generation increases

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has issued a notification on Tuesday (April 30) night increasing the price of gas used for generating power and captive power used in factories by 75 paisa per cubic meter. This new price will be effective from May.

Earlier, on February 27 this year, the price of gas used in generation of power and captive power used in factories were increased.

This time the price of per cubic meter of gas used for power generation has been increased from Tk 14.75 to Tk 15.50. At the same time, the price of gas used in the production of captive power used in factories has also been increased by 75 paisa per cubic meter to Tk 31.50.

Mentionable, in January last year, the price of per cubic meter of gas used for power generation was increased from Tk 5.08 to Tk 14 and the price of per cubic metre of gas used for captive power generation was increased from Tk 16 to Tk 30. At that time, the price of gas was increased in industrial, power and commercial sectors.
