Private university students protest at DU before new student organisation announcement

Private university students have staged demonstrations on the Dhaka University (DU) campus before the announcement of a new student organization formed with students who played a leading role in the July uprising.

The new student organisation was scheduled to debut in front of DU Madhur Canteen around 3pm on Wednesday (February 26).

However, before the committee was announced, private university students started protesting in the Madhur Canteen and TSC areas of DU.

The protest continued till 5pm and the name and committee of the new student organisation were not announced.

Students of private universities said along with public universities, we also played an important role in the July Movement. We are protesting so that we are not left out of the committee of the new student organisation.
