Sculptor Rasha harassed in Gulshan

Noted sculptor Rasha has been harassed by an unidentified youth in the capital's Gulshan area.

According to sources, sculptor Rasha was going to Gulshan Saju Art Gallery in a rickshaw on Monday evening. When he reached the place between Gulshan 1 and 2, a young man stopped the rickshaw and started abusing him verbally. At one stage, when the young man tried to gather people, Rasha ran across the road. At that time, he was hit from behind.

A video of the incident went viral on social media platforms. In the video, the young man was seen stopping the rickshaw and telling Rasha, 'Isn't there a case against you? Where are you going? Go to Gulshan police station. Don't you know what you have done? Go, go to the police station.' At one stage, he assaulted Rasha from behind.

When the video went viral on social media, it sparked a storm of condemnation from all walks of life. Family members say that sculptor Rasha has been mentally traumatized by the incident.

Tarek Mahmud, Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division of DMP, said that they have seen the video that has gone viral on social media. The police are trying to identify those involved.
