Second shipment of 27,000 mt rice arrives from India
A shipment of 26,935 metric tons of rice from India has arrived in Bangladesh, marking the second consignment of rice imported from India under the current interim government.
The MV SDR Universe, which departed from Kakinada port in Andhra Pradesh, India, under an open tender agreement, docked at Chattogram port at 7:15pm on Saturday (January 11).
The Food Ministry issued a notification regarding this shipment.
Unloading of the rice will commence shortly after collecting samples and conducting physical tests. Necessary arrangements have been made to facilitate the process, it read.
Earlier, on December 25, 'MV Tanis Dream' arrived at Chattogram Port carrying 24,690 tons of parboiled rice from India.
