Repair hazardous bridges, save lives

Some bridges in Bangladesh are not just means of crossing rivers and canals; they are death traps. The recent incident in Amtali, Barguna, has left the entire nation in shock. Yesterday, Saturday (June 22), a microbus carrying wedding guests fell into a canal after a bridge collapsed, resulting in the deaths of 10 people. All the victims were women and children. The accident occurred around 2 PM in the Haldia area. The incident was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Amtali Police Station, Kazi Shakhawat Hossain Tapu. The news has deeply saddened people across the country.
