Garbage exhibition organised to create public awareness
In a desperate bid to create public awareness over dumping waste, the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has organised a week-long “Garbage Exhibition” in front of the DNCC Nagar Bhaban at Gulshan-2 in the capital. This exhibition started from May 11 and will continue till May 17.

Mayor Atiq enjoys shower in DNCC's artificial rain
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has arranged ‘artificial rain’ to prevent air pollution in Dhaka and keep the city cool amid the ongoing heat wave. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has started an awareness campaign to sensitise city dwellers to control aedes mosquitoes. As part of this campaign, the city dwellers will be fined or jailed if aedes mosquito larvae are found at their home or office after April 27.
Is there no escape from road excavation for the residents of Dhaka?

DNCC demands strengthening of tobacco control laws
Tobacco not only causes havoc for the user but also poses an equal threat to the health of non-smokers around them. About 1 lakh 61 thousand people die every year due to the terrible effects of tobacco. Eliminating tobacco is crucial to prevent the detrimental effects it can cause. For this reason, it is necessary to strengthen the Tobacco Control Act to ban the use of tobacco and tobacco products in the country. Application of law is essential for rescue
The lifeline of Bangladesh is its rivers, canals, and reservoirs. Yet, there is deep concern about their future. On one hand, construction of dams by the Indian government beyond the borders in upstream areas has caused water crisis in our rivers. On the other hand, rampant encroachment of rivers, canals, and reservoir within the country without any regulation is disrupting natural water flow. Additionally, pollution from various industrial wastes is posing a threat to the biodiversity of rivers, canals, and reservoirs. As a result, many rivers, canals, and reservoir are disappearing from the map of the country."
