Ensure public safety
Mugging is suddenly increasing in various parts of the country, spreading fear among the public. Over the past two days, reports from various media outlets indicate that the fear of mugging intensifies as night falls. Incidents of robbery are occurring even in broad daylight. Particularly in Dhaka, there is a surge in such crimes, with a series of robberies reported in the Mohammadpur area.
Control the speed and route of autorickshaws
In the past, the country only had CNG-powered auto-rickshaws; now, battery-operated auto-rickshaws have also been introduced. These vehicles are widespread across the nation, including in the capital, Dhaka. While they have improved the speed and ease of commuting, they have also introduced significant risks. The uncontrolled speed of these auto rickshaws has led to numerous accidents, resulting in many fatalities.

Won't rickshaw pullers be evaluated for their role in reducing carbon emissions

In our city, Dhaka, there are approximately twelve lakh rickshaws plying the narrow alleys. It's challenging to determine how many kilometers each of these vehicles travels daily. However, it's relatively easy to estimate the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from burning petrol in Dhaka if rickshaws were not present. But are rickshaw pullers given any incentives to reduce carbon emissions? They are not. But why?
