Turag Express derailment causes traffic halt in Gazipur
Train services on a section of the Joydebpur-Dhaka railway route have been halted following the derailment of a coach from the Turag Express at Dhirasram station in Gazipur.
The incident took place at Dhirasram railway station around 8:30am on Thursday.
According to railway authorities, the second coach of the Turag Express derailed upon reaching Dhirasram station, leading to the closure of the Dhaka-Joydebpur railway line.
"The second coach of the Turag Express train has derailed. Fortunately, there have been no casualties," confirmed Hanif Ali, Chief Station Master of Joydebpur Railway.
However, efforts are in progress to retrieve the carriages and resume regular train services.
