Two arrested over attack on tribal students' protest: Adviser Mahfuz Alam

Two individuals have been arrested in connection to the recent attack on the "Agitated Tribal Students-Public" programme, which aimed to advocate for the inclusion of the term 'tribal' in textbooks, said Adviser Mahfuz Alam.

Mahfuz Alam confirmed the arrests in a Facebook post late on Wednesday night (January 15).

"Two individuals have been arrested. Others involved will also be apprehended. A comprehensive investigation will be carried out, and "Anyone engaging in terror and extortion on the streets will be kicked out," the post read.

The attack took place during the protest near the Motijheel metro station on Wednesday noon (January 15). The disruption was reportedly carried out by an organization called 'Students for Sovereignty,' which interrupted the peaceful demonstration organized by tribal students advocating for curriculum changes.
