Viva voce of 222 candidates’ of 44th BCS postponed
The oral (viva voce) examinations of the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) are currently ongoing. However, many of these candidates are also scheduled to take the written exam of the 46th BCS and have expressed a desire to prioritize that.
In response, 222 candidates submitted requests to postpone their 44th BCS viva exams. Based on these applications, the Public Service Commission (PSC) has decided to temporarily postpone only their oral exams.
This information was announced through an official notice issued by Masuma Afreen, the current acting exam controller of PSC’s cadre division on Tuesday (22 April).
According to the notice, the oral exams have been postponed for 45 candidates from both the general and technical/professional cadres and 187 candidates from general cadres. Their registration numbers were included in the application emails sent to the PSC.
The rescheduled dates for their oral exams will be announced later on the PSC website or via the Teletalk Bangladesh Limited website at [bpsc.teletalk.com.bd](http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd).
It is known that the written exam for the 46th BCS will be held on 8 May in Dhaka and other divisional cities. Many of those sitting for this exam are currently involved in the 44th BCS viva, prompting them to demand postponement so they can focus on the 46th BCS written exam. They also held continuous protests in support of this demand.
Following this, the PSC earlier stated that if a candidate wishes to take part in the 46th BCS written exam and their 44th BCS viva is scheduled around the same time, the oral exam will be postponed upon request.
